The Legal Services Board can comment on matters of broad public interest, such as the performance of the legal profession, as well as some specific matters related to Board decisions. The Board does not comment on current matters or investigations unless it is in the public interest to do so.

If the matter relates to proceedings at VCAT or another Court, you can also check the hearings lists on those relevant Court websites.

The Chairperson of the Board, Colin Neave, is the spokesperson for the Board.

Information on procedural matters or factual information, such as whether a practitioner holds a current practising certificate, can be provided by the Communications Adviser.

Media should also be aware that the Register of Legal Practitioners and Law Practices is maintained by the Board and is available on this site for inspection.

There is also a Register of disciplinary action.
